Unusual tours are gardening in South Korea's Kamille Farm
Kamille Farm is filled with exotic aromas of herbs.
Every corner of the garden has themes, "gardening",
"ornamentation", "application", and "art",
providing insights on how to realize coexistence between humans and nature.
Opened in May 2004 as a herb garden in the hilly
district of Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, Kamille Farm is known as the wellness
themed park, which is visited annually by around 100,000 people. If you follow
the path in the herb garden on this 39,000 m2 land, you will pass a herb shop,
cafe, restaurant, zoo, and pet playground. You will not feel bored at Kamille
Farm, and you will enjoy a variety of activities on every corner.
10
Unique Gardens with Different Scents, Visitors are welcome
to see 10 different gardens that exist in large oval shaped buildings. This
trip will take around one hour. The path between two different parks is usually
the best photo spot. You can take the best photo of a lifetime here. "Le
Petit Prince Garden" brings together the natural beauty that comes from
the harmony between the fountain, the statue and the flowers. Plants and
flowers at Kamille Farm show their beauty in different ways depending on the
season. In the "Rose Garden", you can see 60 types of roses planted
on each edge of the stairs.
This flower blooms from June before the first
snowfall, although it really depends on the variation of the flower roses. As
the name suggests, "Cake Garden" looks like a piece of cake filled
with colorful flowers that bloom from spring to autumn. At "Lavender Garden",
the most beautiful hill in Kamille Farm, you can find herbs, such as thyme and
lavender, known as the Mary’s Drying Plant. "Kitchen Garden" is
designed for growing herbs that are used for cooking and provides gardening
classes to meet the goals of Farm Kamille as an educational estate.
"Chamomile & Sage Garden" is full of
chamomile, the main ingredient in herbal teas and beauty soaps in spring, and
attractive purple sage in autumn. "Event Garden" is a place where a
variety of very interesting flower festivals — tulips in spring, sunflowers and
sparkles in summer, and chrysanthemums in autumn are held depending on the season.
"Romantic Garden" is known for its aesthetic qualities because it
creates a pattern from medieval Europe with plants. "Wetland Botanical
Garden", consisting of three ecoponds, is a place you must visit because
you can find a variety of wet soil, water and water edge plants.
This place is
also home to aquatic insects, fish and frogs. You can see the birds that are
landing to drink calmly. "Animal Garden" is located behind the
Wetland Botanical Garden, a place where you can observe and feed donkeys,
rabbits, goats, pigs, and turkeys.
Variety
of Activities with Herbs, Farm Kamille provides a variety of
activities. Outside the room, you can participate in gardening, while inside
the room, you can take classes. You can choose several options: prepare herbal
tea and cook with herbs, make herbal soap, extraction of oil and water for
beauty, squeeze flowers, and craft from wood. In the cafe, you can enjoy bread
with a cup of coffee, buy a variety of herbal products, and also try the aroma
therapy, foot baths, and ear candling.
You will get a free cup of herbal tea if you
register with several programs. Candles are imported directly from Germany
which is very effective in relaxing and cleansing the body and soul. Ear
candling is an alternative treatment where a hollow tube is placed in your ear
and heated from the outside. It is designed to remove toxins from the body. You
can also relieve fatigue because ear candling is located in a sauna made from
retinispora and red clay.
