Unique tour is learning to make your own cosmetics at SKYLAKE 하늘 호수 South Korea
SKYLAKE is located in Dongseong-ro, which is known
as the cultural and industrial center of Daegu. This is a cosmetic cafe where
visitors can make cosmetic products based on traditional Korean medicine and
get close to nature.
This place is very popular with people interested in making their own cosmetics (reservation required). Classes are held on the top floor of the cafe. Participants can wear yellow clay bandanas and aprons. Many people like these clothes because they are worn in the Korean drama "Daejanggeum (A Jewel in the Palace)" which is popular around the world.
Participants can create a pack of masks to refresh their skin, which is
easily irritated by changing seasons. On the table there are electronic scales,
measuring cups, pipettes, and several other tools used when making masks. To
make a mask, you must first make the essence. After you put the essence in the
bag containing the sheet mask, you will create your own handmade mask pack.
Participants receive assistance from instructors and demonstration vieos. In class, one team consists of two people. Everyone is allowed to bring two packs of masks and 20ml of water. First, the traditional Korean medicinal water mixture is poured into a bowl. This water is also said to be contained in all SKYLAKE cosmetic products. This water contains 18 ingredients that are distilled and produced on-site.
The water replaces pure
water added to other brands of cosmetics and contains about 80% of the essence
made. The ingredients that are then added are galactomyces, which comes from
yeast, hyaluronic acid, which helps regeneration, as well as glycerin, aloe and
two or three natural oils. The ingredients that are mixed turn into a
transparent and thick essence like a gel. The essence is carefully placed into
the bag with the mask sheet inside. The air in the bag is expelled, and a mask
package is created.
Traditional
Korean medicinal cosmetics are made with care and time, At
SKYLAKE, creating mask packs isn't the only thing visitors can do. Visitors
also learned how to make Korean traditional medicinal soap, knotweed shampoo,
and cooling spray. The coolant spray here is new. This thing uses menthol and
mint to relax tense muscles. Many people like this program because they can
make a spray that refreshes their mind.
After the program is finished and while waiting for the soap to freeze in the refrigerator, visitors can drink tea. This activity is included in the price and tea is served in front of a comfortable sofa. It's a great break time with homemade herbal teas. SKYLAKE has ginger tea, which increases body temperature, and also cnidium tea, angelica root tea and adzuki bean tea, which are said to be effective in flushing out toxins.
In-house brand
products can be seen on the ground floor, including the traditional Korean
medicinal skin lotion introduced on the popular beauty television program
"Get It Beauty." The medicinal water used for their products is
ripened and fermented, then boiled and distilled for four days. Then, leave it
again for 90 days until cooked. This water does not contain preservatives,
alcohol or chemicals. All products are 100% natural and safe to use for
