Introduction of Korean ancestral culture series "Hanbok" with KCC Indonesia
On
Friday, 22 May 2021, the Indonesian Korean cultural center held an event with
the theme of introducing the Korean ancestral culture series, namely Hanbok,
this event was held directly at the KCC by applying very strict health
protocols, and maintaining distance between participants who attended this
event.
In
this event we explained the history of hanbok from the beginning to today's
modern hanbok, there were many variations in hanbok that we didn't know before
and now we know, this event is very good, especially in the field of education
so we can add insight into Korean culture.
Korea
has 5 traditional colors or you could say the basic color belongs to Korea, the
black color which is symbolized by water means wisdom and intelligence, the
second color is blue which is symbolized by a tree which means courage and
passion, the third color is red which is symbolized by fire which means is
spirit, love and fertility production, the fourth color is yellow which is
symbolized by the ground which means the clothes of the king or the color of
the upper class, the fifth color is white which is symbolized by iron which
means honesty and purity.
There
is something interesting that I just found out, if a woman has a green top and
a red subordinate, it means that the person is married, as well as the rope on
the hanbok, if the rope is purple, it means the woman is married.
In
this event, they were also taught how to tie a rope on a woman's hanbok.
