South Korea's 2021 spring flowers bloom 3-4 days earlier

 

This year, the spring flowers are thought to bloom three to four days earlier than usual. However, this may vary between regions.

First, forsythia will start blooming on March 12 in Jeju and spread to the southern region between March 12 and 19. This flower will bloom into the central region from March 22 to 31.

Azaleas will bloom on March 13 in Jeju followed by Busan and the Gyeongsangnam-do region between March 16 and 24. Azaleas will bloom in the central region from March 24 to April 3.

Cherry blossoms reach their peak about a week after first blooming. As a result, these flowers look their most beautiful around March 27 in Jeju, March 31 to April 5 in the southern region, and April 6 to 12 in the central region.

Silhak movement in the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea

Since the beginning of the 17th century, a movement that advocated Silhak, or learning about practical matters, gained considerable momentum among liberal-minded scholars as a tool for building a modern nation. They strongly advocate for improvements in agriculture and industry, in line with comprehensive reforms in terms of land distribution. However, the nobles of conservative governments were not ready to make such drastic changes. In the second half of the Joseon Dynasty, the administration of government and the upper classes was marked by factionalism or the formation of groups which appeared repeatedly.
