Launching of the First batch of “Korean Culture Njogo” A group of guardians of Korean cultural symbols in Indonesia, which was formed by the Indonesian Korean cultural center (KCCI)
The
Embassy of the Republic of Korea for the Republic of Indonesia and the
Indonesian Korean Cultural Center (KCCI) will launch 'Korean Culture Njogo
(KCN)'. Korean Culture Njogo is a term for a group tasked with finding,
finding, and correcting errors in Korean cultural symbols found in Indonesia.
This launch event will be held non-face to face (online) using a video
conference platform on July 8, 2021.
Previously,
last May, KCCI corrected an error in Korean cultural symbols located in Jeju
Park, Karang Resik Tourism Park, Tasik Malaya, West Java. To continue the
activities of correcting and preserving these Korean cultural symbols, KCCI
together with the local Hallyu community worked together to search for
restaurants, gift shops, and public facilities such as parks and other tourist
destinations to correct the incorrect use of symbols related to Korea.
In
the first batch of KCN, KCCI appointed the largest Hallyu community in
Indonesia based in Bandung, namely the HANSAMO community. The 21 members of
HANSAMO who participated in the first batch of KCN planned to start tracing and
fixing errors in Korean symbols in the Bandung area for 4 months.
In
addition, KCCI together with other Korean related agencies will hold a
'K-Festival' event. K-Festival is the biggest Korean cultural event in
Indonesia which takes place from October to November every year.
At
the K-Festival event, the Embassy and KCCI will present the work of KCN members
and give certificates and gifts to KCN members who have worked hard in finding
and protecting Korean cultural symbols in Indonesia.
It
is hoped that the launch of the first batch of 'Korean Culture Njogo' can
contribute to building a proper understanding of Korean culture in the future,
as well as being a great opportunity to promote Korean culture to the
Indonesian people.
