Explore Korea on DokeV Metaverse


The metaverse allows you to do things like go to virtual concerts, travel online, create or view art and try on digital clothes to buy, Metaverse can be a game-changer for the work-from-home shift system in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of only being able to see co-workers in a video call box like video conferencing applications, employees can join together in a virtual office. 

Metaverse is a virtual space created as a digital version of various aspects that exist in the real world, be it interactions between humans and economic functions. 

A game that allows users to explore Korea in the metaverse is in the works. On December 7, Pearl Abyss, a Korean game developer, announced their collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization to create a way for users to travel around Korea in their DokeV game world. 

DokeV by Pearl Abyss is an open world action adventure game where players fight and gather to eventually find the dokkaebi, goblins from traditional Korean myths. In August 2021, the game's trailer was released at the Gamescom 2021 European gaming event and garnered the attention of gamers around the world. 

The DokeV game trailer uses a K-pop style theme song called Rockstar. Viewers can watch beautiful Korean landmarks with stunning graphics, DokeV, a new world where humans and Dokebi live together!  Meet the cute Dokebi friends and the mysterious world through the new gameplay trailer shown through gamescom 2021: Opening Night Live. 

DokeV is a creature-collecting open world action-adventure consisting of a unique world and a story that everyone can understand. Looking for the Dokebi who grew up from people's dreams, and go on new adventures with them. 

Maybe around you there will be cute Dokebi dancing...?!  Until the day to adventure with them, let's shake the world!  How to pronounce ""DokeV""? The trick is ""Do-ke-vi""! It's a world where Dokebi friends live!

Silhak movement in the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea

Since the beginning of the 17th century, a movement that advocated Silhak, or learning about practical matters, gained considerable momentum among liberal-minded scholars as a tool for building a modern nation. They strongly advocate for improvements in agriculture and industry, in line with comprehensive reforms in terms of land distribution. However, the nobles of conservative governments were not ready to make such drastic changes. In the second half of the Joseon Dynasty, the administration of government and the upper classes was marked by factionalism or the formation of groups which appeared repeatedly.
