Enjoying the Various Charms of South Korea
Jakarta
– The Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) introduced an exciting concept in
traveling to South Korea. Generally, tourists will visit big cities or resorts.
Meanwhile, the trend that has developed lately is to visit places that have
local characteristics. The concept is called “Glocal”, a combination of two
words global and local, where the unique culture of a place can be spread to
various international communities. This concept has become possible with the
development of transportation networks that will bring tourists to various
regions easily and quickly. In addition, the availability of tourism
information becomes easily accessible through media and social media.
South
Korea is a country that is very suitable for Glocal tourism because South Korea
has an excellent transportation system, which includes fast train services,
which can take tourists anywhere in a short time. Each region is uniquely
different based on its geology and weather. Tourists will enjoy the charm of
traditional culture that is well preserved in each area.
Here
are some areas that are Glocal tourist destinations with their own uniqueness:
-
Incheon
-
Gangwon-do
-
Daejeon
-
Chungcheongnam-do
-
Chungcheongbuk-do
-
Daegu
-
Jeollabuk-do
-
Jeollanam-do
-
Gyeongsangnam-do
Each
region has a different culture, climate, lifestyle, and even a distinct taste
of food. Experience in one area to another can be very different. From the
location of the winter Olympics in Gangwon-do, enjoying the sunset in Busan, or
having a culinary tour in Jeollabuk-do.
“Seoul
is charming but South Korea also has other unique charms. For example, Andong
or Gyeongju. Tourists can visit these areas to enjoy nature, see historical
sites, and see local people's lives up close.” said Irma Maulida, PR &
Media Manager of KTO Jakarta.
"We
believe this Glocal tourism concept will bring tourists closer to local culture
with all its unique characters, and we believe that tourist visits to this
Glocal destination will be an unforgettable visit." Close Irma Maulida.
