KCCI Celebrates March with Various Competitions












Various competitions are being held by the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (KCCI) throughout March 2023. Starting from writing Hangeul (Korean script), writing poetry, debating in Korean, to singing covers.

"Holding various competitions is one of our efforts to promote Korean culture. Included also in order to enliven the celebration

50 Years of Korea-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations. We look forward with enthusiasm to the works for the various ongoing competitions," said the Director of KCCI, Kim Yong Woon.

The ongoing competitions are as follows.

- Hangeul Handwriting Contest (Registration : 2-20 March 2023)

Invite participants to rewrite the poem in Hangeul using their own handwriting.

- 2023 Korean Language Debate Competition for D3/S1 Students throughout Indonesia (Registration: 6-27 March 2023)

Through this competition, the participants will show their Korean language skills as well as knowledge about Korea. The competition will consist of preliminary rounds, semifinals and finals.

- Korean Poetry Competition: 50 Years of Korean-Indonesian Diplomatic Relations (Registration: 2-17 March 2023)

Participants write and recite poetry in Korean with the theme “50

 

Year of Korea-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations".

- Online Sing Cover Contest (Registration : 8-20 March 2023)

This is a singing competition, covering songs by the winners of the K-Pop Songwriting Competition (LCLK). The LCLK is a competition held by KCCI in 2021.

All competitions do not charge registration fees to participants.


KCCI hopes that these competitions can reach the wider community in Indonesia, as well as become a positive event to show talent.

Silhak movement in the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea

Since the beginning of the 17th century, a movement that advocated Silhak, or learning about practical matters, gained considerable momentum among liberal-minded scholars as a tool for building a modern nation. They strongly advocate for improvements in agriculture and industry, in line with comprehensive reforms in terms of land distribution. However, the nobles of conservative governments were not ready to make such drastic changes. In the second half of the Joseon Dynasty, the administration of government and the upper classes was marked by factionalism or the formation of groups which appeared repeatedly.
