In
commemoration of the anniversary of South Korea's independence which falls on
August 15 and Indonesia on August 17.
IKFA
together with the Korean association held an event to strengthen the friendly
relations between the two countries.
By holding
an event titled "Saranghae Merdeka 5K" Not only running casually,
there are also various other interesting events that can be witnessed.
The event
which was held free of charge is expected to be a bridge so that the friendly
relations between Indonesia and Korea will be even closer.
Indonesia's
relations with Korea are getting tighter. In this month of independence, the
two countries held the Saranghae Merdeka 5K event, which is also a momentum of
the Indonesia-Korea Friendship Association (IKFA) as a provider of solutions
for the socio-cultural relations of Indonesia and Korea.
In his
written statement, the Chairperson of IKFA, Adhi Wargono revealed that IKFA has
been seen as an organization that purely deals with business, even though it is
not entirely business. "We also bridge the social, cultural, educational
and business sectors," he added while in the middle of the 5K Saranghae
Merdeka event in the East Parking of GELORA BUNG KARNO, Senayan, Jakarta,
Sunday.
IKFA is now
also a party that bridges Sister City's plan between the Andong Region in Korea
and the City of Bandung, West Java. "We are quite trusted by the Korean
people. I hope this event will open the road and good momentum for
Indonesia-Korea relations," hoped Adhi.
On the same
occasion, Chairman of the Saranghae Merdeka 5K Implementation Committee, Erwin
Purnama revealed, this event was fully supported by the Korean Ambassador to
Indonesia, Kim Chang Beom.
According to
Erwin, the opening of the event participants was done online both from IKFA and
the Korea Association. Around 2,000 participants registered to take a leisurely
walk around the Senayan East Parking Area.
This event
was even more lively with the Indonesian dance flashmoob opening up before the
runners started at 06.00 WIB. Then, do not miss the traditional hanbape
performances, taekwondo martial arts performances, ondel-ondel, Korean bands
and also dangdut entertainment (Indonesian traditional music).
Judged to
provide a positive value, Adhi and Erwin both hoped that an event like this
could become an annual event, and a permanent moment to commemorate the
independence of Indonesia and Korea which both fell in August.
