Inauguration of Korea Corner on the Bina Nusantara campus in Jakarta
On
Thursday 31 October 2019, one of the campuses in Jakarta namely Bina Nusantara
or (BINUS) held an event entitled "International days 2019 global lifelong
learning". This event was open to the public and free to follow, the
contents of this event were to introduce the campus campuses that are abroad,
such as Korea, China, Japan, Canada, America and others, but in this event the
more dominant ones are from Korea.
Korea,
who doesn't know about Korea, which is famous in the fields of entertainment,
food, culture or tourism, why does this show the most in Korea?
Because
from the South Korean cultural center in Indonesia opened a booth on the Bina
Nusantara campus, many things can be done such as learning to write Hangul,
tasting South Korean specialties, trying and feeling wearing Korean traditional
clothes or what is called "Hanbook", and not forgot to miss this event
not only enlivened by Korean cultural centers in Indonesia, but also enlivened
by various Korean government agencies such as Korean culture and information
services, ministry of culture sports and tourism, and of course Korean Cultural
Center Indonesia.
Not
only that Korean activity at the event, but many others, such as the taekwondo
show, taekwondo is a sport as well as martial arts from South Korea, there is
also the appearance of a traditional Korean musical instrument namely Gayageum.
There
is something interesting in this event, namely the inauguration of the place
"Korea Corner"
The
establishment of "Korea Korner" is a realization of the discussion
between the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Kim Chang-beom
and the Chancellor of Bina Nusantara University in Jakarta, during a visit to a
public lecture on bilateral relations between the two countries last May.
The
"Korea Corner" promotional design integrates technology with Korean
culture.
"The
design of Korea Corner at Bina Nusantara University is made based on the
concept of Hanok (Korean traditional house) which consists of two rooms. First,
the information zone is designed like a madang which is a Korean traditional
home page.
This room consists of a corner of Korean language and culture, a
tourism corner, a corner education and scholarship information supplemented
with books, DVDs and various other materials. "
