Inje Icefish Festival, visitors can fish on ice located in Bupyeong-ri, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do. Not only that, visitors can also enjoy various other interesting programs such as ice skating, big ice skating, and snowboarding. All the fish caught by the participants can be served raw or fried for a warm meal.

This year's festival is 2020, period 18 January 2020 - 27 January 2020, around Lake Bingeoho in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do. Participants can catch bingeo, or smelt, small freshwater fish, as well as enjoy recreational sports and eat delicious food.

This year's theme is having fun in winter surrounded by nature, and there will be various new programs that match the theme. In the Drone Zone, visitors can watch drones operated by pilots and participate in various programs. Snow Village will be designed to be Inje in the 60s and visitors can borrow a school uniform to wear. Highlights include ice fishing, ice skating, skating, metered riding and much more.

Ice fishing is free but visitors have to pay a fee to borrow fishing rods and buy bait. Additional fees are required for tent fishing, ice skating, skating and other programs.

Silhak movement in the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea

Since the beginning of the 17th century, a movement that advocated Silhak, or learning about practical matters, gained considerable momentum among liberal-minded scholars as a tool for building a modern nation. They strongly advocate for improvements in agriculture and industry, in line with comprehensive reforms in terms of land distribution. However, the nobles of conservative governments were not ready to make such drastic changes.
