Bucket List Mandatory: K-pop Star's Favorite Restaurant in Seoul

 


It's only natural that Hallyu fans want to know everything about their idols, including their favorite places to eat. Visiting an idol's favorite place is a satisfaction in itself for K-pop fans. The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Jakarta selected several favorite cafes or restaurants for K-pop stars, which must be included in the bucket list of K-pop fans.

 

1. Cofioca

This bubble tea cafe, which is in Apgujeon, Gangnam, is Sehun EXO's favorite. According to the shop owner, Sehun's favorite menu is chocolate colada. Cofioca is the first bubble tea cafe in Korea, which has been open since 2000. The interior is decorated with messages from fans, hands and photos of celebrities, including Sehun, so it is perfect as a background for photos on Instagram. Apart from Sehun EXO, K-pop idols and trainees from various agencies, such as SM Entertainment, often stop by this cafe too.

How to get to the cafe: Exit 6 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Bundang Line), walk for about 6 minutes.

 

2. Yoojung Sikdang

BTS fans are no stranger to this one restaurant. Yoojung Sikdang became popular with fans after BTS named this restaurant their favorite restaurant on a live broadcast, not long after their debut. Currently, Yoojung Sikdang's interior is filled with traces left by BTS and gifts from their fans. The most sought-after menu here is “Bangtan Jeongsik”, which is BTS members' favorite food menu. The menu consists of ssambap (rice wrapped in vegetables) and heukdwaeji dolsot bibimbap (black pork mixed rice served in a hot pot). This restaurant is always full of BTS fans, both from Korea and abroad, who want to try “Bangtan Jeongsik” right at the restaurant table which is always occupied by BTS.

How to get to the restaurant: Hakdong Station (Seoul Subway Line) exit 7, walk approx.10 min.

 

3. Chosun Hwaro

Chosun Hwaro, which used to be famous for its grilled ribs, is now well known as a popular dining spot among celebrities, especially BIGBANG. Due to its close location to YG Entertainment, many celebrities from YG are regular customers of this restaurant. Visitors can enjoy Korean-style barbecue dishes amidst the restaurant's decor decorated with the signature and photo of BIGBANG members. Don't forget to take pictures and share them on your Instagram account, yeah!

How to get there: Exit 1 (Seoul Subway Line 2, Airport Train, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, approx.5 min walk

 

4. Jilhal Bros

Located in Apgujeon, Gangnam, Jilhal Bros is the favorite Muslim friendly restaurant of Yugyeom, the youngest member of GOT7. Of the many menus offered, the favorite menu recommended by Yugyeom is combo rice, which is a combination of chicken, lamb, salad and cream sauce served with pita bread. Yugyeom calls this menu his soul food. GOT7 fans definitely have to come here!

How to get to the restaurant: Exit 2 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Bundang Line), walk approx. 15 minutes.

 

5. Myeongjangjok

Still in the Gangnam area, Myeongjangjok is SHINee's Taemin favorite restaurant. The restaurant is decorated with various fan crafts and of course Taemin's photos. The table where Taemin sits is also marked with “Taemin's Seat”. In addition, his favorite menu is called "Taemin Set Menu", which consists of Makguksu (spicy soba noodles) and jokbal (pork leg dish cooked with soy sauce and spices).

How to get to the restaurant: Hakdong Station Exit 10 (Seoul Subway Line 7), walk approx. 5 minutes.

 

6. Solbin Superdog

Solbin Superdog is one of the restaurants recommended by Super Junior's Kim Hee-chul. This restaurant in Apgujeong offers menus such as tacos, hot dogs and rice bowls. Kim Hee-chul's favorite menu is the spicy dog, which is very spicy but addicting. However, the restaurant's favorite dish is galbi rice served with nachos, sour cream, jalapeno peppers and vegetables.

How to get to the restaurant: Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, walk for approx. 1 minute
