South Korean government carries out Disease Prevention Measures on the Beach in Summer 2021

 

Disease prevention measures on beaches this year will be stricter than last year. This is done to prevent the spread of COVID-19 once the summer beach season begins. These precautionary measures will apply to 277 beaches in Korea. Haeundae Beach and Songjeong Beach will be the first to open in June followed by other beaches. Key disease prevention measures will include telephone service, temperature stickers, and safety wristbands.

Plan Period starting mid-June 2021, located on 277 beaches throughout South Korea, Haeundae Beach and Songjeon Beach will open in June; another beach will start opening in July.

Some of the main disease prevention measures, Telephone services: Phone calls to record guest visits, Temperature stickers: A sticker that visitors can put on the back of their hand that changes color when it reaches 37.5℃ or more, Bracelet: A bracelet to mark a visitor who has had a temperature checked , Safety traffic light: Informs the density of visitors at certain locations on the website (Korean, English, Chinese), Beach registration: 50 beaches will use an advance registration system to limit the number of visitors.

Haeundae Beach and Songjeong Beach are the beaches that opened this June, Haeundae Beach is the most famous beach in Busan. This white sand beach is about 1.5 km long, and over 30-50 m wide, creating a beautiful coastline in front of a shallow bay, making Haeundae Beach perfect for swimming.

People flock to Haeundae Beach every summer. All types of accommodation from luxury hotels to private guesthouses have flourished in the area around the beach, making it the perfect summer getaway. Haeundae Beach is also famous for the various cultural events and festivals held throughout the year. Other facilities in the area include Dongbaek Island, Busan Aquarium, yachting wharf, BEXCO, driving lessons, and more.

Silhak movement in the Joseon Dynasty in South Korea

Since the beginning of the 17th century, a movement that advocated Silhak, or learning about practical matters, gained considerable momentum among liberal-minded scholars as a tool for building a modern nation. They strongly advocate for improvements in agriculture and industry, in line with comprehensive reforms in terms of land distribution.
