ATEEZ's version of “This is My Korea”!

Some time ago ATEEZ released a video of their trip to selected regions in Korea to celebrate their third anniversary. The three selected areas are Damyang, Gyeongju and Gangneung.
The ATEEZ members (Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho) invited the audience to join in on the beautiful scenery and delicious food.

1. Calm Damyang

A visit to Damyang, Jeollanam-do, is not complete without a visit to Juknokwon. Junokwon is a tourist destination that represents Damyang and is visited by at least one million visitors every year. This place is an ecotourism spot with a lush bamboo forest equipped with an observatory and resting area. Junokwon is the perfect destination for travelers who want to find serenity and be at one with nature.

Besides the scenery, delicious food is also an important reason to visit an area. Here are the delicious dishes in Damyang that ATEEZ members tried.

Tteogalbi Steak

This dish is served differently from the usual tteokgalbi because it is served like steak. Visitors can enjoy this dish at Yori On restaurant. This restaurant is indeed famous for its signature tteokgalbi steak menu, which combines the soft texture of ground beef, pork patty and the sweet and sour taste of the steak sauce. However, for a more local taste, there is tteokgalbi with ssamjang, a mixed sauce made with gochujang (red chili paste) and doenjang (soybean paste).

Migak Waffle

This cafe serves delicious "Migak Waffle", named after the cafe. This waffle topped with strawberries and almonds, served with syrup and ice cream. For a sweeter experience, diners can pair this waffle with a vanilla bean latte made by Migak's own cafe.

2. Gyeongju is Rich in History
A must-visit destination when visiting Gyeongju is the Cheomseongdae Observatory, which is an astronomical observatory built during the Silla kingdom, the Three Kingdoms period. It is 9-meters high and is thought to have been used for stargazing. The structure of this observatory is still well preserved to this day.

The observatory looks beautiful during the day, but becomes even more beautiful at night. Therefore, the observatory is one of the must-see night attractions in Gyeongju along with Donggung Palace and Wonji Pond, which are not too far away. Gyochon Hanok Traditional Village is also not to be left behind from the list.
In addition to the tourist destinations mentioned above, here are the food dishes recommended by ATEEZ when visiting Gyeongju.

Teuknaengmyeon

Gyodong Myeonok Restaurant is a restaurant frequented by lovers of naengmyeon, cold buckwheat noodles. The restaurant's most popular dishes are teuknaengmyeo with sliced raw pollack fish and yukjeon (fried beef wrapped in egg). The combination of sweet and sour taste makes this dish very tasty and fresh.
“You won't stop eating after the first bite!” That's the impression conveyed by ATEEZ members.

Injeolmi Ice Cream

Tteokindang is a hanok style rice cake cafe and shop. A popular dish is "injeolmi ice cream", which uses homemade injeolmi (bean powder rice cake). One serving of ice cream is enough for two people.

3. Gangneung as Beautiful as an Emerald
Gangneung, which is located in Gangwon-do, does have a variety of tourist destinations that you shouldn't miss, such as Jeongdongjin, Jumunjin beach, Gyeongpo beach and others. In the ATEEZ sightseeing video series, the tourist destination visited was Gangneung Dubu Village (Gangneung Tahu Village).

Gangneung Dubu Village is dedicated to "sundubu" or soft tofu, a food that represents Gangneung. This Tofu Village is famous for "Chodang dubu", which is made through a long process of grinding peanuts and curdling the curd with fresh seawater from the East Sea of Korea, to give it a subtle sweet taste. This is a taste that will never be forgotten.

In addition, there is Sinami, Myeongju Sightseeing. This tourist destination offers the opportunity to fully enjoy the downtown environment of Myeongju-dong with local Gangneung residents. This excursion combines aspects of tourism activities and local people's lifestyle, and provides an experience for visitors to explore the past and present of Gangneung city.

Lala Chicken

The dish recommended by ATEEZ is Lala Chicken, which is the mainstay of the Lalaok Gangneung Volla restaurant. This deliciously roasted chicken is smoked for 20 hours, offering the perfect blend of smoked chicken and tender chicken. This dish is served with a layer of cooked yellow rice underneath, while topped with fried tofu and sprinkled with grated cheese. Yum!

Vital Records:
