Autumn Foliage Forecast 2022
The
first thing that comes to people's minds during autumn is the changing colors
of the leaves. The first foliage of the year will begin at Seoraksan Mountain
on September 29. The peak foliage of the central region is expected to occur on
October 19-1 November, and the southern region on October 26-8 November.
The
Korean maple tree, which represents the colors of autumn, is unique in that its
lobes are divided into eleven sections of nine during the fall foliage period.
Popular
fall foliage attractions include Deoksugung Palace Stone Wall Street, which is
famous for its ginkgo leaves; Gyeongbokgung Palace, Yangjae Residents' Forest,
Sungkyunkwan University Myeongnyundang Lecture Hall, Olympic Park, and Seoul
Forest. Popular fall foliage attractions outside of Seoul include Hwadam
Botanical Gardens, Bukhansan National Park, Nami Island, and Park of Morning
Silence. Mountains known for their beautiful autumn leaves include Bobaljae
Hill in Danyang, Oksunbong Peak in Jecheon, Jangtaesan Mountain in Daejeon,
Seoraksan Mountain, Naejangsan Mountain, Odaesan Mountain, Sobaeksan Mountain,
and Hallasan Mountain.
