The way the South Korean government handles corona virus cases quickly and precisely
South Korea is one country that is considered to
have good management in handling the Corona virus. Korea's strategy in handling
Corona is packaged in the slogan 3T. What is that?
South Korea's strategy in handling Corona was
explained by South Korea's Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Kim
Chang-beom when giving his presentation related to the plague being hit,
ambassador Kim Chang Beom said that the Corona virus or COVID-19 was quickly
spreading. Need innovative ways to overcome them.
Ambassador Kim said South Korea has processed 18,000
Corona tests per day. This is what makes South Korea can act quickly.
"Korea has processed 18,000 tests per day out
of a total of 280,000. With this very rapid diagnostic test we can identify
patients and also act immediately to treat patients. So that is to control
transmission," ambassador Kim Chang Beom said.
South Korea in this case has the slogan '3T' in
dealing with transmission of COVID-19 disease. "Trace, test and treat
(trace, test, and treat). 3T, track, track infection and test cases and treat
patients,"
Ambassador Kim Chang Beom also said the participation of South Koreans was also important in handling the virus. South Koreans
can contribute to monitoring through a distribution map application.
"Public participation through openness and
transparency in various ways. For example we have an application to notify
people where this virus infection has been identified. This map distribution
application can be downloaded on cell phones,"
How this application works can show residents about
which areas are the epicenter of the spread of the virus. With this
application, South Koreans can have an idea to avoid the region. Not only shows
the area, but also the building.
Ambassador Kim Chang Beom explained about the
drive-thru Corona test method that Indonesia was about to emulate. He explained
that the Corona test can be paid or free.
"This test is very simple. You only need to
register at the Corona test station. If you arrive without symptoms, you need
to pay. But, if you come with symptoms and doctor's recommendations, this
service is free,".
He said there are currently 68 Corona drive-thru
test stations in South Korea. Usually the station is shaped like a tent with
electricity in several devices, depending on its location. Usually this station
is in a parking lot or open land without rent.
Costs to be incurred for one station reached USD
12,000 or around Rp 180 million (assuming the value of the rupiah against the
US dollar 15,000). This fee is a fixed cost for one station. "So it's
usually around USD 12,000 per 1 station, to regulate the whole station,"
