The South Korean government makes adjustments to the level of social distancing
Starting
July 1, the level of social distancing will change to four levels instead of
five as before. As a result, restrictions on private gatherings and disease
prevention measures will also change.
What
is social distancing, social distancing is keeping a distance, is a series of
non-pharmaceutical intervention measures intended to prevent the spread of
infectious diseases by maintaining physical distance between one person and
another and reducing the number of people who have close contact with each
other. This action is usually carried out by maintaining a certain distance
from other people (the specified distance may vary from time to time and from
country to country) and avoiding gathering together in large groups.
According
to the amended social distancing level announced by the Korean government on
June 20, the restriction on private gatherings will start at level 2. A maximum
of eight people can gather at level 2 and four people at level 3. At level 4, a
maximum of four people can gather until 6 p.m. :00 and two after. However,
those who have completed vaccinations are exempt from this count.
For
more information about social distancing levels and regional levels, you can
see info about COVID-19 on the website of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of
the Republic of South Korea.
