This cake is colorful in terms of appearance, the colors served are usually adjusted to taste. The ingredients for making hangwa are fairly simple, which only requires rice flour, honey, sugar, sesame oil and healthy ingredients that have nutritional value.

Hangwa was first eaten by the royal family in the 7th century. This food is a substitute for fruit that is hard to find in winter. Today's hangwa, made from rice and shaped like a fruit. People are starting to leave hangwa and switch to snacks that are widely available in modern supermarkets. because of this, there is a hangwa museum in Pocheon, South Korea, which is trying to immortalize and preserve it again. This museum called Hangwa Culture Center is the first traditional cake museum in the country. In this museum, visitors not only learn about the history of hangwa. Visitors also learn about the different types and ways of making hangwa as well as the traditions and meanings behind these foods.
