Celebrating Seollal Day with Korean Cultural Center Indonesia with a "K-Traditional" experience
On Monday 31 January 2022, Korean Cultural Center Indonesia held an event to commemorate Seollal with the theme "K-Traditional Experience" at lotte shopping avenue Jakarta, before the event started Korean Cultural Center Indonesia explained what "Seollal" is, Korean New Year (Korea: Seollal (설날) or Gujeong (舊正) is the biggest and most important Korean holiday. Seollal is celebrated so festively that the holiday lasts for 3 days because it is considered more important than New Year's Day in the Gregorian calendar. Although not very popular, the term Seollal is also means Yang-nyeok Seollal (양력설날, Gregorian calendar new year) or Shinjeong (신정). The last day of the 12th month of the Korean calendar is called seotdal geumeum and the night before the new year is called jeya or jeseok.
