Autumn in Korea
Autumn
in Korea starts from September to November. The air in autumn is cold too, and
the sky is blue with few clouds. Koreans call autumn as Cheon-go-mabi. The heat
of summer seems to be lingering in September. The air is hot in the afternoon,
but the air in the morning and evening is cold. In October, there is little
rainfall and the humidity level in the air decreases, so the weather is dry and
pleasant. In late summer to early fall, hurricanes emerge from the South
Pacific.
Autumn
is a beautiful season with falling leaves. Gingko and Maple trees turn yellow
and red leaves all over Korea. During autumn, Koreans love to go mountain
climbing to enjoy the beautiful scenery created by the autumn leaves. Mountains
and autumn leaves all over Korea attract crowds of people this autumn. Autumn
is also known as the season of abundant harvests, including harvesting rice,
sweet potatoes, apples, peaches, and jujubes.
Fall
*Cheongomabi
The
term Cheongomabi means "the sky is high and the horse is getting
fat". The term Cheongomabi describes autumn a lot. In this season, the sky
is very blue and clear as well as clean, so it is great for going sightseeing,
and the harvest season makes plenty of food to eat.
